Editorial Policy

How Sundress Notes chooses topics, checks claims, names writers, dates articles and handles corrections and commercial links.

Why this page exists

A site is only as good as the process behind it. Here is ours for Easy dresses, honest fabrics and slow fashion, written plainly so you can weigh the rest of the site against it.

Where money enters

A minority of outbound links are commercial. None of them have ever changed a sentence that was written before the link existed.

Nobody has ever bought the removal of a fair criticism here, and the ones who try mostly hand us the material for the next article.

Who signs the work

Bylines are real people with real archives attached. If you disagree with a piece, you can see what else the same person has written and judge accordingly.

Odette Marchand, Style editor. Odette spent a decade in small ateliers and writes about cut, drape and the dresses people actually reach for.

Paloma Reyna, Games and culture writer. Paloma covers costume design in games, avatar fashion and the communities that trade rare outfits.

Hana Vukovic, Fabric care writer. Hana tests washing and storage routines on linen and silk and reports what actually keeps them looking new.

From notes to published page

  1. Draft from experience, not from a page of search results.
  2. Underline every claim that rests on memory rather than a source.
  3. Support it or lose it. Each underline is backed by something we can name, or it comes out.
  4. A cold read by a second person catches the confident guesses the writer stopped seeing.

Publication dates

The date you see is real. A tidy up of wording leaves it alone; only a change to what the piece recommends moves the modified date, along with a note saying so.

How we choose what to write

We do not plan an editorial calendar. Articles appear when a question has come up often enough to be worth answering properly.

How mistakes are handled

Send the page and the problem to info@mariashebets.com. Typos are fixed silently. Facts are fixed quickly. Conclusions that turn out to be wrong are corrected in the open, with a note saying what we previously said.
